Jesus clearly expects us; as disciples to grow and to produce spiritual fruit.  Just as a gardener prunes and cultivates a plant in order to direct its growth, so the Father desires to prune and cultivate us in order to see us grow up in Him. (Ephesians 4:11-16)

How then will you grow in 2008?  The Cultivation Plan at North Fort Worth Baptist Church is designed to foster and support the spiritual growth of believers through targeted and systematic Bible study classes.  The plan consists of three stages of growth.  Each stage is designed to build upon the next, just as you would build a home first with a foundation, then with walls, and finally with a roof.

The first stage of the Cultivation Plan is called Connect.  In this stage each participant will learn how to properly connect and relate to Christ.  As a branch connects to a vine so each believer will learn how to connect to Christ; for He is the true Vine and we are the branches. (John 15:5).  Classes include Thrive, The Life You've Always Wanted, and Foundations.

The second stage is called Cultivate.  As believers participate in this stage they will be challenged to actively cultivate their walk with Christ.  Believers will learn about how God has SHAPE'd them with spiritual gifts, how to live out a Biblical worldview through The Truth Project, and how to Cultivate spiritual maturity in themselves and others.

The third level of growth in the Cultivation Plan is called Commit.  Just as Christ desires for each believer to properly Connect to and to Cultivate their faith in Him, so He also expects each of His disciples to Commit to Him and His mission.  Paul's challenge to Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:2a aptly summarizes the goal of this stage when he says, "what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, commit to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."  It is at this stage that members will be trained and challenged to become committed disciple-makers (Matt. 28:18-20).
